The Cancer Resource Guide of North Central Florida

About NCFCCC

to improve access
to cancer care and
reduce the burden
of cancer

North Central Florida Cancer Control Collaborative (NCFCCC) is one of Florida's six regional Cancer Control Collaboratives under the Department of Health's Florida Comprehensive Cancer Control Program. The program is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to support and coordinate comprehensive cancer control activities throughout the state.

The purpose of the NCFCCC is to improve access to cancer care and reduce the burden of cancer on residents of North Central Florida. NCFCCC encompasses 11 predominantly rural counties: Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, Levy, Union, Putnam, Columbia, Hamilton and Suwannee. Active NCFCCC members include safety net healthcare facilities (i.e., Federally-Qualified Health Centers, county health departments, rural health clinics), rural primary care practices, hospices, hospitals and a variety of community stakeholder groups. Through online training presentations, successful grant applications, regional cancer data and communications tools (such as this online Guide, a members’ Listserve and The Cancer Resource Blog), NCFCCC supports the region’s cancer community with resources, networking opportunities and education.

Oversight and leadership of NCFCCC is provided by WellFlorida Council, a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization created in 1969. WellFlorida is a state designated local health council for North Central Florida and specializes in health-related consultancy for clients and projects throughout the state. NCFCCC is currently supported by funding from the Florida Department of Health Cancer Control Program through a grant to WellFlorida.
